DT Swiss was formed in 1994, and at that time was dedicated to spoke production. The company developed the famous Hugi hub into the bicycle market and since then moved into the production of air shocks, rims and wheelsets. DT Swiss acquired Pace Cycles Ltd in 2006, which allowed them to move into the rigid fork business as well as moving to the high-end suspension manufacturing sector sponsoring many riders and teams throughout the world including the Monster Energy Specialised team of Sam Hill and Brendan Fairclough in 2009
